21 Days of Prayer and Fasting

January 5-25, 2020

And said unto them, It is written,
My house shall be called the house of prayer…    Matthew 21:13a

Thank you for your commitment to fasting and seeking the Lord. While you may have never fasted before or may have never even heard about fasting, it is a spiritual discipline that was both practiced by Jesus and instructed by Jesus for us to practice. We are asking you to make this personal sacrifice so that you can know God deeper and we as a church can experience more of Him. Your Life is Unlimited in 2020.

We are joining the international fasting movement January 5-25, 2020. Everyone can participate in some way as Christians all around the world focus their lives on seeking the Lord. Be sure to read the full Informational Brochure linked below for more information.

Most importantly: Remember, this is NOT a diet or new year’s resolution. It is a specific time to take our focus off of ourselves and place it on Jesus.

Biblical fasting is deliberately abstaining from food for a specific period of time for the purpose of communication and a deeper relationship with the Lord.

Christ commanded us to fast (Matthew 6:16, Luke 5:35). Jesus fasted, and He is our example (Matthew 4:2). Fasting puts things in perspective. Fasting weakens the flesh, and strengthens our Spirit in Jesus Christ (Isaiah 58). Our relationship with God becomes more important than food and the things of the world.

Fasting is one of the most powerful spiritual tools for discernment, guidance and blessings. Often times the Holy Spirit will prompt you and impress upon your heart that you need to fast. There may be times when you need direction . . . when you face family challenges . . . when you need God’s wisdom . . . when you need financial blessings . . . and when you need renewal and refreshment for your body and spirit.

A corporate fast is a joint fast of believers for a specific purpose that can yield powerful results. Although this fast involves others, it is very much a “private and personal experience.” Esther called all of her people to fast for protection against danger (Esther 4:16). Samuel declared a fast for national revival (I Samuel 7).
